THE RESULTS OF PHIL'S ROCK n' ROLL SURVEY.

It has always been my belief that in order to be a great rock band you had to be able to give a great live performance. My favorite Beatle recordings are Rubber Soul, Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper and the White Album. These are all studio albums. The Beatles best live performances were probably in their early days in Hamburg. Since they never gave any great live performances performing their best material (Abbey Road, White Album, etc.) in the late 1960s or early 1970s when concert acoustics got better, I voted for the Rolling Stones. My vote actually broke a tie for 2nd place between the Stones and Led Zepplin.
